Kirsten Reile received the Nurse Administrator of the Year Award for NADONA/LTC for the Central Region at the awards banquet held during the NADONA/LTC National Convention held in Atlanta, GA on June 15, 2010 What a great honor for Kirsten, Elim Rehab & Care Center and NADONA of North Dakota. This is the tenth NADONA member from North Dakota to receive the North Region Award in the past eleven years. Kirsten Reile, Director of Nursing, Elim Rehab & Care Center, is the recipient of the 2010 NADONA of North Dakota Nurse Administrator of the Year Award. Congratulations, Kirsten! Vonda Gunderson, Luther Memorial Home, was the recipient of one of our scholarships. Here's what she had to say about being the recipient: Dear Scholarship Committee: I would like to take this time to say thank you for choosing me to receive one of the two scholarships yoru committee had to offer. I have to tell you a litle story upon receiving this scholarship. Julie Hanson, our DON, announced over the intercom that we would be having a short 5 minute meeting and that all staff was to meet at the nurse's station. We were all gathering, wondering what was about to happen, when she started explaining the scholarship and that I had been chosen to receive one of the scholarships. My co-workers were all applauding and throughout the day they would congratulate me and make comments on how proud they were of me. Let me tell you, this could not have come at a better time. This week was challenging my faith in my ability to complete the nursing program. UPon receiving the scholarship and all the comments my co-workers had made to me, affirmed my faith I can do this!
