Sandy Fischer, long time member of NADONA of ND, was seriously injured in a farm related accident. Renee Muhonen, Director of Nursing, Rosewood On Broadway, Fargo, ND, recipient of the 2011 NADONA of North Dakota Nurse Administrator of the Year Award was recently named the Northwest Region NADONA/LTC Nurse Administrator of the Year recipient at the NADONA/LTC annual conference held at Gaylord Palms Resort, Kissimmee, Florida. Congratulations, Renee! Renee is the 11th nurse administrator from the State of ND to receive this award since 2000. My name is Nicole Stein. I was one of the recipients of the NADONA of North Dakota Scholarship. Just this past weekend, I went home for my college fall break and received a surprise from the Director of Nursing at the nursing home that I work at in Hankinson. I had no idea that I had won this, and it just made my day! I have a "thank you" card written out and plan to send it to you at Villa Maria today. I just wanted to send you an email personally to thank you and the people behind the scenes/judges for selecting me as one of the recipients. I felt a deep connection with applying for this scholarship, as I have aspirations on becoming a Director of Nursing in a long-term care setting or hospital when I graduate from nursing school. NADONA has really inspired me to realize that even though some days are tough in nursing school, working hard will pay off when it's all said and done. Again, I just wanted to send out a thank you to everyone who was involved with awarding me this scholarship.
